NLC Demands Emergency Palliatives as Petrol Price Hits N1,430 Per Litre

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has called on the Federal Government to urgently introduce emergency palliatives and wage awards for workers as the rising price of petrol deepens economic pressure on households and businesses across the country.

NLC President, Joe Ajaro, made the demand in a statement on Wednesday, warning that the latest increase in petrol prices could further worsen the hardship already confronting Nigerians.

The labour union also urged the Federal Government to ensure the immediate sale of crude oil to local refineries in naira as part of measures to stabilise the domestic fuel market and reduce pressure on consumers.
