While many people are busy chasing comfort and luxury, some elderly men and women in communities across Kogi State struggle daily just to eat, survive, and access basic care.
Sadly, many of them have been forgotten.
But one woman has continued to quietly bring hope to these vulnerable people.
Through the Sabua Cares Foundation, Chief Dr. Sabua Rekiya Isah, popularly known as Ebule Attah Igala USA, has continued to support elderly men and women across Kogi State with food items, palliatives, and humanitarian assistance.
In recent months, the foundation has carried out several outreach programs in communities including Ajaka, Anyigba, and other parts of Kogi State, providing relief materials to elderly citizens who can barely support themselves.
For many beneficiaries, the support means survival.
Some elderly women were seen emotional during one of the outreach programs, praying passionately for the founder and members of the foundation for remembering them in difficult times.
According to members of the foundation, the mission is simple:
“No elderly person should feel abandoned or forgotten.”
Despite the growing impact of the foundation, supporters say much of the humanitarian work is still being personally funded by the founder herself, while the needs in communities continue to increase daily.
The foundation is therefore calling on kind-hearted Nigerians, both home and abroad, to support the mission of helping vulnerable elderly people live with dignity and hope.
In a time where many only talk, Sabua Cares Foundation is choosing action.
And for many elderly people in Kogi State, that action is becoming the difference between despair and hope.
