The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, has described voter education as crucial ahead of the 2027 general elections, commending a civic group for its sensitization campaign.

CP Ojajuni spoke on Friday at the State Police Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, when he received members of the Iyawo Alhaji Itoku Community & Development Initiative led by its founder, Comrade Oladunni Sodipo.

The group presented the Peace and Service Leadership Award to the Commissioner in recognition of his commitment to peace, security and community policing in Ogun State.

The Police Commissioner lauded the group’s Operation Protect Your PVC Campaign, themed “From Registration to Protection – PVC Na Your Power,” aimed at sensitising market women, youths and community members on obtaining and protecting their Permanent Voters Cards.

“We appreciate your fantastic speech loaded with noble objectives, civic responsibilities, leading advocacy, leading enlightenment initiative, especially at this particular time we are on the march to 2027 general elections,” CP Ojajuni said.

He assured the group of the Command’s support, noting that such campaigns are needed to deepen democratic participation.
