Violence Erupts in DR Congo as Protests Target Constitutional Changes Linked to Tshisekedi’s Third-Term Bid

Violent clashes have erupted in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) as opposition supporters took to the streets to protest proposed constitutional changes that critics say could open the way for President Félix Tshisekedi to seek a third term in office.

The demonstrations, organised by the opposition coalition C64, took place on Tuesday, September 15, in Kinshasa and several other cities, including Lubumbashi and Uvira.
