Vice-President Kashim Shettima is set to travel to New Delhi, India, to represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit scheduled to take place this weekend.
The trip comes as President Tinubu remains on vacation in Europe, with Shettima expected to use the high-level gathering to strengthen Nigeria’s relations with emerging global economies and advance the country’s economic interests.
In a statement, the Vice-President’s spokesman, Stanley Nkwocha, said Nigeria’s participation would provide an opportunity to deepen bilateral and multilateral partnerships in key sectors of the economy.
