Shettima clarifies remarks on northern governors’ support for Tinubu

Nigeria’s Vice-President, Kashim Shettima, has clarified comments he made about six northern governors who supported Bola Ahmed Tinubu before he emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate in 2022.

Mr Shettima said his remarks referred only to consultations and political alliances formed before the APC presidential primary held in June 2022.

He said he was not referring to the position of APC governors in the North after Mr Tinubu emerged as the party’s presidential candidate.
