The Chairman of Niger Tornadoes Football Club of Minna, Dr. Abubakar Abdullahi Kuso, has moved to strengthen the relationship between the club and sports journalists in Niger State, promising unhindered access for members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) to the Bako Kontagora Stadium during home matches.
He acknowledged that the difficulties and embarrassment faced by sports journalists in gaining access to the stadium were regrettable, assuring SWAN members that measures would be put in place to prevent a recurrence.
Kuso made the commitment when he received the Niger State SWAN executive, led by its Chairman, Mohammed Alhassan Kutigi, during a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Sports in Minna.
The chairman, who described sports journalists as critical stakeholders in the development of sports, appealed to SWAN members and the management of Niger Tornadoes to put behind them whatever issues may have strained their relationship in the past.
