The Federal Government has pledged to intervene in outstanding compensation disputes involving residents affected by railway construction in Zaria, Kaduna State, as it considers a request to name a proposed railway extension after the grandfather of the Emir of Zazzau.
The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Transportation, Funso Adebiyi, gave the assurances on Friday during a courtesy visit to the palace of the Emir of Zazzau, Ahmad Bamali.
According to a statement from the ministry, the visit was aimed at strengthening engagement with traditional institutions and host communities to support the implementation of railway infrastructure projects.
