The Bauchi APC Youth Solidarity Forum has strongly condemned what it described as the unfounded and misleading allegations made by one Alwan Hassan, against the leadership of the party in Bauchi State. In a statement issued on Saturday, the Forum’s spokesperson, Alhaji Inuwa Muhammad, said Hassan’s comments on a television programme were nothing more than political propaganda aimed at creating unnecessary division within the party. He described Hassan as “confused, disconnected from political realities in Bauchi State, and determined to obfuscate facts while feeding half-truths to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Nigerian public.” Muhammad further dismissed Hassan as an Abuja-based briefcase politician with no political value in the state, insisting that he does not speak for the APC family in Bauchi State.
The Forum reaffirmed its total support for the APC governorship candidate, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, SAN (MA Abubakar), and the Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof Ali Pate, stressing that the Bauchi APC remains united and committed to delivering overwhelming votes for the party and President Tinubu in the 2027 general elections. According to the statement, since the conclusion of the party’s primary election last week, MA Abubakar has embarked on extensive reconciliation efforts across all local government areas and wards in the state, reaching out to party stakeholders and aggrieved members to strengthen unity and consolidate support ahead of the polls. The Forum noted that these efforts have been widely embraced, resulting in renewed solidarity and confidence within the party.
Responding specifically to Hassan’s claims of imposition and political rejection, the Forum stated that such allegations carry no weight and are contradicted by established facts. It noted that records confirm that a valid electoral process was followed in Bauchi state, contrary to claims that candidates were imposed. The Forum further argued that the defeat of an incumbent governor in 2019 reflected the democratic choice of voters at the time and cannot be used as evidence that APC candidates are incapable of winning future elections. It added that the recent defection of two senators represents a normal political realignment rather than proof of a flawed process, emphasizing that political credibility should be measured by verifiable facts, including party primary results, and testimonies of stakeholders on the ground, rather than allegations from individuals with limited involvement in the state’s political affairs.
