Fintiri’s Government House Mosque commissioning: The Target, the agenda

I’m truly impressed with the way and manner the Governor of Adamawa State, Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri is turning around things, the development and the economy growth of the state is impressive.

I have considered the commissioning of the government House juma’at mosque as a master for unity, tolerance and inclusive leadership which by any standard of objective assessment the new Juma’at Mosque is more than a mere infrastructural addition. It is a statesmanship, balance, and genuine inclusive governance.

For almost two decades, the Government House Chapel has stood inside the seat of power in Dougirei. It was constructed under the administration of Mr Boni Haruna as a symbol of the freedom of worship and recognition of the Christian faith in Government House. For years, Christian faithful serving in Government House, from top officials to staff, worshipped there without hindrance. What was missing was a befitting counterpart for the Muslim faithful to observe their Juma’at prayers in the same Government House. For this it’s truly commendable and applause of thoughtful leadership by Fintiri.
