A serving police officer has been arrested by the Anambra State Police Command after a disturbing video of him threatening to shoot anyone who records him while on duty went viral on social media. In the clip, which circulated on platforms like X, Instagram, and TikTok, the officer identified as ASP Newton Isokpehi was seen angrily warning members of the public that he would “clear everybody down” — including innocent bystanders — if anyone attempted to record him while performing his duties.
Speaking in Pidgin English, Isokpehi also threatened that even superior officers who authorised filming would be the ones responsible for burying civilians who tried to record him. Following the public outcry, the Anambra State Police Command confirmed the arrest of ASP Isokpehi and said disciplinary procedures have begun in accordance with police regulations.
