The presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has said any possible political alliance with former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar ahead of the 2027 general elections must be negotiated between political parties and not individuals.
Obi, who spoke on the possibility of a coalition with Atiku, said both men were presidential candidates backed by political structures and therefore could not independently decide the terms of any alliance.
“I am a candidate representing a political party, and Atiku Abubakar is also a candidate representing a political party. Any alliance must be between parties, not between individuals,” Obi said.
