Open Free AccountMedia entrepreneur and politician Dele Momodu has suggested that a presidential ticket featuring Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi could become a strong political force under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Momodu made the remarks on Tuesday during an appearance on Politics Today aired on Channels Television.
According to Momodu, the two politicians already demonstrated their ability to work together when Obi served as Atiku’s running mate during the 2019 presidential election.

Publish NowHe argued that their previous partnership could make it easier for them to attract voters again.
“I’d pair him (Atiku) with Peter Obi because they worked together in 2019, so they already share a similar temperament,” Momodu said.
He further noted that Obi’s performance in the most recent presidential election makes him an attractive partner in any future political alliance.
“Peter Obi came third in the last election, so you don’t have to work too hard to maintain and attract the same group of people who love him,” he added.
Momodu also claimed that the growing presence of prominent opposition figures within the ADC has created concern within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to him, the possibility of several major opposition leaders aligning under one platform could pose a significant challenge in future elections.
“They cannot believe that we will have maybe four or five major opposition leaders in the country, and some people will go and put fire in their houses so that none of them will be strong enough to stand against the leader,” he said.
Momodu added that despite the ruling party’s strong political structure, including governors and legislators, signs of unease are visible.
“It is reality; let’s not hide behind one finger. I keep saying it, Tinubu today, despite gathering all the governors, ministers, legislators, and what have you, you can see the obvious panic in the party,” he stated.
The remarks come amid ongoing discussions about possible political realignments ahead of future elections in Nigeria.
Political analysts say alliances between major opposition figures could reshape the country’s political landscape if they eventually materialize.
However, no official announcement has been made regarding any such ticket under the ADC.
