The earlier report by TGNews that a helicopter had crashed in Ondo State has now been followed by an official confirmation from the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, who disclosed that a military aircraft carrying 32 people crashed near the Naval Base in Igbokoda.
Keyamo, in a statement issued on Monday, said the aircraft, with tail number NGR 931, disappeared from radar at about 9:13 a.m. while travelling from Benin to Lagos.

According to the minister, air traffic controllers lost communication with the aircraft, and all efforts to re-establish contact through radio proved unsuccessful.
