As world leaders converge on New York for the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), attention is again focused on the global push to accelerate the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) ahead of the 2030 deadline.
The General Debate of the 81st UN General Assembly is taking place from September 22 to 26 and September 28, 2026, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The session provides a major platform for heads of state, governments and other high-level representatives to address global development challenges.
For Nigeria, the occasion provides an opportunity to highlight its ongoing efforts toward the implementation of the 2030 Agenda, particularly in poverty reduction, healthcare, education, gender equality, economic empowerment and sustainable financing.
