The Niger State Government has imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew in Minna, the state capital, following violent attacks linked to the death of 37 artisanal miners in the custody of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)
This is contained in a statement signed by Bologi Ibrahim, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Niger State, and dated September 18, 2026 and a copy available to The Reporters.
According to the statement, the restriction became necessary following a series of violent attacks allegedly carried out by some miscreants who resorted to taking the law into their own hands.
