The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has called on manufacturers across the country to sustain high product quality standards to protect consumers, strengthen confidence in locally made goods and improve the competitiveness of Nigerian products in domestic and international markets.
The Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of SON, Dr. Ifeanyi Okeke, made the call at the 2026 National Mandatory Conformity Assessment Programme (MANCAP) Quality Award Ceremony held in Lagos on Wednesday.
The event marked the 20th anniversary of the MANCAP scheme, which became operational on January 1, 2006, to ensure that products manufactured in Nigeria meet relevant Nigerian Industrial Standards.
