Reports indicate that the project was funded by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Waidi Shuaibu, as part of his command philosophy known as the “Soldier First Culture,” which focuses on prioritising the welfare of troops.

During the ceremony, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division and Commander of Sector 1 of Operation Fansan Yamma, Maj. Gen. Abubakar Wase, was represented by the Commanding Officer of the Administration Battalion, 1 Division Garrison, Lt. Col. R. O. Ejoor.
Addressing the soldiers who will occupy the facility, Wase emphasised the importance of maintaining the new accommodation and protecting the infrastructure.
He warned against activities such as illegal electricity connections or any form of misuse that could damage the modern facility, adding that anyone found violating the rules would face sanctions.
Wase also expressed appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff for supporting the project, noting that improved infrastructure plays a significant role in strengthening the fighting capability and psychological readiness of troops deployed to different operations across the country.
The ceremony concluded with the official presentation of keys to the soldiers, marking their formal relocation into the new accommodation.
