Oyo School Kidnap: Five Alleged Ansaru Members Re-Arraigned, Plead Not Guilty

The Department of State Services (DSS) has re-arraigned five men accused of involvement in the May 15, 2026 abduction of pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State and the alleged killing of two of the victims.

The defendants were brought before the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday, September 17, 2026, where they pleaded not guilty to the amended charges.

The five defendants are Mahmud Muhammad, also known as Abu Bara’a and Abbas Mukhtar; Abubakar Abbas, aka Isah Adam and Mallam Mahmuda Al-Nigeri; Abdulrazak Umar, aka Abu Khalifa and Abu Khalid; Yunusa Musa, aka Abu Yunusa Bin Musa; and Shamsu Adamu Sani, aka Abu Itisar.
