For the ordinary Deltan, politics is not about the big English spoken on television or the grand promises made at campaign rallies. It is about whether the road to the farm is passable, whether a daughter can find employment after graduation, whether salaries are paid when due, whether communities enjoy peace, and whether government remembers the people after elections.
For those in power, therefore, MORE Plus must mean more than a re-election slogan. It should represent a renewed social contract between the government and the people — one built on development, inclusion, accountability and mutual responsibility.
That is why Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s unveiling of MORE Plus as his re-election theme deserves attention. Beyond its political significance, the initiative presents an opportunity to define what the next phase of governance should mean to ordinary Deltans and the grassroots structures that sustain political movements.
