Nigeria has facilitated the return of former Sierra Leone President Ernest Bai Koroma to his home country, bringing to an end more than two years of temporary relocation to Nigeria amid a treason case linked to a failed 2023 military uprising.
Koroma arrived at the Freetown International Airport on Sunday, accompanied by Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, and former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo.
He was received by Sierra Leone’s Foreign Minister, Mohamed Rahman Swarray, as well as officials and supporters of his All People’s Congress (APC).
