Lokoja, Kogi State – July 2026
His Royal Highness, Alhaji Akwu Aliyu Obaje, the Ejeh Ofu of Ofu Kingdom, and Chairman, Ofu Local Government Council of Chiefs, Kogi State, has been appointed as a member of the Interface Committee of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria (NCTRN).
The appointment was conveyed in an official letter dated 14th July 2026, signed by His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr.) Yahaya Abubakar, CFR, Etsu Nupe, Chairman, Coordinating Committee of the NCTRN.
According to the letter, the appointment received the approval of the Council, with the committee saddled with the responsibility of interfacing with the National Assembly and other relevant organisations on issues of concern to the National Council.
The Interface Committee is chaired by His Royal Highness King (Amb.) Appolus Chu, OFR, the Egbere Emere Okori, Oneh Eh-Nchia of Eleme Kingdom, and will serve as a bridge between traditional institutions and key national stakeholders.
The Council congratulated His Royal Highness Alhaji Akwu Aliyu Obaje on his appointment and expressed confidence that he would bring his wealth of experience and leadership qualities to bear in the discharge of his responsibilities.
The appointment is seen as a significant recognition of the role of traditional rulers in promoting unity, cultural preservation, community development, and constructive engagement with government institutions across Nigeria.
