Education Minister Alausa Orders Federal Universities to End Dependence on Government Funding

The Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, has directed Vice Chancellors of Nigeria’s federal universities to strengthen their Advancement Offices and develop alternative sources of funding to reduce dependence on government financing.

Alausa gave the directive while speaking at the Nigeria Higher Education Foundation (NHEF) National University Advancement Programme Forum, where he expressed disappointment over the low participation of Vice Chancellors in the initiative.
