Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shuaibu, has arrived in Maiduguri, Borno State, following President Bola Tinubu’s directive to security agencies to rescue all abducted persons across the country and eliminate terrorist and bandit camps.
Shuaibu arrived at the headquarters of the Northeast Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai, at Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri at about 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2026.
His visit comes amid renewed efforts by the Federal Government to tackle insecurity and secure the release of Nigerians held captive by terrorists, bandits and other criminal groups.
