President Bola Ahmed Tinubu says the use of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and electric-powered vehicles is already helping to reduce transport fares in parts of Nigeria.
The President said more Nigerians should begin to benefit from lower transport costs from 1 October 2026, as the Federal Government and state governments expand the National Affordable CNG Transit Programme.
