The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has secured victory in the Sakwa State Constituency by-election in Zaki Local Government Area of Bauchi State, with its candidate, Adamu Yakubu, emerging ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other participating parties.
The election, conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday, September 19, 2026, was one of five legislative by-elections held across Gombe, Kano, Bauchi and Delta states.

INEC declared Yakubu the winner after the collation of results, with the APM candidate polling 8,515 votes. The APC candidate came second with 3,771 votes, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) recorded 2,076 votes and the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) scored 727 votes.
