LAN’s position comes amid political manoeuvring ahead of the 2027 general elections, with some serving senators reportedly backing Akpabio’s possible return when the next National Assembly is inaugurated.

In a statement signed by its Coordinator, Comrade Benjamin Joseph, the group said the debate should focus on the current Senate leadership’s record, the effectiveness of parliamentary oversight and the extent to which the Senate has fulfilled its constitutional responsibilities to Nigerians.
