Afrobeats, Fashion, Film, Food: Afrocentric Expo 2026 Set to Turn Abuja Into Africa’s Creative Capital

By Barth Ikiebe in Abuja.

Abuja is set to become a major global showcase for African entertainment, culture and creativity as the Afrocentric Cultural Expo 2026 brings together music, fashion, film, food, dance and business in a 10-day celebration of Africa’s creative wealth.

The Expo, scheduled for November 7 to 18, 2026, at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Complex, Abuja, is expected to feature more than 1,000 exhibition booths and attract creatives, entrepreneurs, investors, businesses and members of the African diaspora.

The Minister of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, who formally unveiled the project in Abuja, described the Expo as more than a festival, saying it was designed to stimulate Nigeria’s creative economy and unlock greater economic value from Africa’s cultural assets.

Represented by her Special Adviser on Job Creation, Jemma Amachree, the minister said the organisers projected a direct economic injection of more than N200 million into the local economy.
