One of the 47 farmers abducted by suspected bandits in Tugan-Rimi, Mariga Local Government Area of Niger State, has reportedly given birth while in captivity.
The incident was confirmed by the Chairman of Mariga LGA, Aliyu Bagga Muhammadu, who said the victims were kidnapped while working on their farms.
The farmers were reportedly abducted on Saturday while harvesting groundnuts in the area, with women said to constitute the majority of those taken.
