Tinubu demands two permanent UN Security Council seats for Africa

Tinubu made the demand in his address delivered by Vice President Kashim Shettima during the General Debate of the ongoing 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, United States.

According to him, the world of 2026 cannot remain tied to the distribution of power established in 1945.

He said reform of the UN must begin with the restructuring of the Security Council to give Africa permanent representation.
