The Nigerian Army has announced a major leadership reshuffle, with new commanders appointed to oversee the country’s counter-insurgency operations in the North-East and the administration of military pensions.
Under the latest appointments, Major-General I.A. Ajose has been named the new Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, the joint military operation leading efforts against Boko Haram and ISWAP insurgents in the North-East.
Ajose, who previously served at the Army Headquarters Department of Army Operations, takes charge at a critical time as security forces continue operations aimed at degrading insurgent groups and restoring stability to communities affected by years of conflict.
