A former public official, BD Lawal, has come to the defence of Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa, amid criticism of his recent comments concerning former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
Lawal, in a statement, said he had deliberately refrained from responding to what he described as “fatuous articles” attacking Musa, noting that many of the criticisms appeared to be coming from platforms associated with the Arewa Consultative Forum and other groups largely populated by Northerners.
He acknowledged the right of El-Rufai’s supporters to defend the former governor but argued that such positions could not erase what he described as the experiences of Southern Kaduna communities during El-Rufai’s tenure as governor.
