Former media aide to ex-Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Laolu Akande, has accused former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, of making false allegations against his former principal over the 2023 presidential election.
Akande dismissed Lawal’s claims, insisting that records from the administration of late President Muhammadu Buhari contradicted the account presented by the former SGF.
In a statement titled “A Response to Mr. Babachir Lawal’s Falsehoods Against Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, GCON,” Akande said he was compelled to respond because he witnessed several of the events in question and was directly involved in the operations of the Office of the Vice President.
