The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Imo State has petitioned the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Police Force over an alleged fraudulent All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary election report circulating on social media, which purportedly identifies former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha as the party’s candidate for Imo West Senatorial District.
The commission described the document as fictitious, insisting that it contradicts the official primary election report reportedly forwarded to its national headquarters.

In separate letters dated October 5 and 8, 2026, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Imo State, Chukwuemeka Ibeziako, called on the security agencies to investigate the origin and circulation of the disputed document.
