The political intrigues ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Adamawa State took a dramatic turn on Friday as no fewer than 39 Ardos from the 21 local government areas defied the leadership of Miyetti Allah Tabital Pulaku Kautal Houre and reaffirmed their support for the Labour Party governorship candidate, Senator Ishaku Abbo.
The influential Fulani traditional leaders converged on Yola at the instance of their leader, Ardo Maikano Ahmadu Bello, to respond to reports that the Adamawa State leadership of Kautal Houre was opposing their endorsement of Abbo and threatening sanctions.

In a strong-worded resolution, the Ardos declared that no socio-cultural organisation has the right to dictate their political choices or intimidate them for exercising their constitutional rights.
