Coup Trial: Court fixes date to rule on disputed exhibits

The judge fixed the date on Wednesday after prosecution counsel, Maryam Okorie, and lawyers representing the defendants adopted their written addresses and made arguments for and against the admissibility of the evidence.

The Federal Government, through the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation, had on April 22, 2026, arraigned the six defendants on a 13-count charge in suit No. FHC/ABJ/CR/206/2026.

The charge, filed by the Director of Public Prosecutions of the Federation, Rotimi Oyedepo, SAN, contains allegations ranging from treason and terrorism to failure to disclose security intelligence and money laundering linked to terrorism financing.
