Iran Executes Man Accused of Sharing Missile Site Information With Israel

Iran has executed Hossein Pedaran, a man convicted of espionage for allegedly providing Israel’s Mossad intelligence service with information about Iranian missile and military sites in Isfahan province.

Iran’s judiciary announced the execution on Saturday, September 19, saying Pedaran had been convicted of “espionage and intelligence cooperation” with Israel. His death sentence was reportedly upheld by the country’s Supreme Court before he was executed by hanging.

According to Iran’s judiciary-run Mizan news agency, Pedaran supplied information concerning sensitive military facilities in Isfahan, a central Iranian province that hosts important nuclear and military infrastructure.
