The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, has declared that no woman should lose her life while giving birth, as the Federal Government intensifies efforts to reduce maternal and newborn deaths across Nigeria.
Pate made the declaration on Monday in Abuja during the launch of a new phase of interventions under the Maternal and Neonatal Mortality Reduction Innovation Initiative (MAMII) at the State House.
The event also witnessed the flag-off of the distribution of incentives to pregnant and vulnerable women by the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, aimed at encouraging women to seek timely maternal and newborn healthcare services.
