The Nigerian Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) has arrested a suspect, Hafsat Abubakar, over the alleged creation and circulation of a forged document claiming that fintech company OPay was shutting down its operations.
The police said the suspect was arrested following the circulation of the purported document, which allegedly gave the false impression that OPay had decided to discontinue its services.

According to the NPF-NCCC, the document was forged and the information contained in it was false, prompting authorities to investigate its origin and those responsible for spreading it.
