The Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested popular TikToker Amani Ishaq and two other women over allegations of sharing dance videos on social media that the board considers contrary to Islamic teachings and its moral standards.
The Deputy Commander of the board, Dr Mujahid Aminuddeen, confirmed the arrests in a statement issued on Saturday, October 24, 2026.
The other women arrested alongside Ishaq were identified as Hauwa Khamis and Sa’adatu Muhammad.
