Ebola Scare: Keyamo Orders 21-Day No-Fly Restriction for 46 Contacts of Confirmed Case

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has directed the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to place 46 individuals identified as contacts of a confirmed Ebola patient on a no-fly list for at least 21 days as the Federal Government intensifies efforts to prevent the spread of the virus.

Keyamo announced the directive on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, following a virtual meeting with the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, on measures to contain the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) outbreak in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

According to the minister, the list comprises 44 people who came into contact with an affected female patient at a hospital after she developed Ebola symptoms, as well as two members of her domestic staff.
