Nigeria’s Senate has shelved a bill seeking to relocate the Federal Polytechnic in Nasarawa State to Nasarawa Eggon, following concerns that the proposed amendment could affect the existing university that replaced the institution.
The decision followed an intervention by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who advised the bill’s sponsor, Senator Envulu-Anza Danladi, to seek the establishment of a new federal polytechnic in Nasarawa Eggon instead.

Danladi, who represents Nasarawa North Senatorial District, had sponsored the bill to amend the Federal Polytechnics Act and move the institution from Nasarawa West to Nasarawa North.
