The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has warned Nigerians against a fraudulent online publication claiming to be a special announcement by the commission concerning governorship candidates in six states.
The commission, in a public notice, identified the affected states as Zamfara, Gombe, Delta, Plateau, Yobe and Kano, describing the circulating publication as fake and confirming that it did not originate from INEC.

INEC urged members of the public to disregard the publication and refrain from sharing it, warning against the spread of unverified information capable of misleading voters and creating confusion ahead of electoral activities.
