2027: Peter Obi rejects Anambra debt claims, challenges government over ₦2.13bn ecological fund

Obi described the allegations as false, insisting that his administration cleared historical salary, gratuity and other arrears and left funds for his successor.

The former Anambra State governor made the claims in a post on X, in which he also addressed the controversy over a purported ₦2 billion ecological fund allegedly left by his administration.

Obi said his administration “systematically liquidated historical gratuities and arrears dating back several years, amounting to over ₦35 billion.”
